On the first day of your Odisha tribal tour, you'll arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport and be transferred to your hotel for check-in and refreshment. Your exploration of the capital city, Bhubaneswar, will begin with a visit to the Odisha State Museum, renowned for its impressive collection of tribal artifacts and handmade wares.

After your museum visit, you'll enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves, located just a few kilometers from Bhubaneswar. These historic caves were once inhabited by Jain and Buddhist monks and feature around thirty-three rock-cut caves.

Return to your hotel in Bhubaneswar for an overnight stay.

On the second day of your tribal tour in Odisha, you will embark on a guided city tour to explore some of Bhubaneswar’s most remarkable sites. Begin with a visit to the elegant Rajarani Temple, celebrated for its mythological significance and architectural grace.

Next, head to the Parameshwara Temple, recognized as Odisha’s oldest temple and dedicated to Lord Shiva. From there, proceed to the Muktesvara Deula, often hailed as the "gem of Odisha." This exquisite temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is known for its detailed heritage beauty and features elements significant to Buddhists, Hindus, and Jains.

Your tour will continue with visits to the Brahmeswara Temple and the Lingaraj Temple. The Lingaraj Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is renowned for its captivating architectural beauty, intricate carvings, and stone sculptures. Please note that the Lingaraj Temple is restricted to Hindus, but if necessary, we can arrange a specialized service to view the temple from the terrace roof.

Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.


 

On the third day of your Odisha tribal tour, you'll depart for Dhauli, renowned as the Shanti Stupa. Dhauli is historically significant as the site of the Kalinga War and is home to the carved edicts of Emperor Ashoka. The striking white Shanti Stupa, believed to have been built by the Japanese, adds to the area's serene beauty.

Following your visit to Dhauli, you'll drive to the culturally rich city of Puri. En route, stop at Pipli, famous for its artisans and vibrant appliqué handicrafts. Continue your journey to the Sun Temple at Konark, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning architecture and intricate carvings.

After lunch, proceed to Puri, where you can explore the city's many temples. The most prominent is the Lord Jagannath Temple, a major Hindu pilgrimage site. Please note that this temple is restricted to Hindus, but its significance and grandeur are notable.

End your day with a delicious dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel in Puri.

On the fourth day of your Odisha tribal tour, you'll depart for Chilika Lake, located at Mangalajodi. Chilika Lake is Asia’s largest brackish water lagoon, situated just 60 km from the Bay of Bengal and renowned for its shallow waters, rich ecosystems, and migratory bird populations.

On your way to Chilika Lake, you will visit the village of Raghurajpur, famous for its traditional "Pata Chitra" paintings and intricate palm leaf drawings.

Upon arriving at Chilika Lake, embark on a relaxing cruise in a handcrafted boat to soak in the scenic beauty of the lake.

After your lake excursion, continue to the charming town of Gopalpur, situated on the Bay of Bengal. Gopalpur Beach, known for its sand dunes and coconut groves, offers a serene and picturesque setting.

Enjoy your overnight stay in Gopalpur, where you can relax and take in the tranquil coastal ambiance.

On the fifth day of your Odisha tribal tour, you'll drive to Rayagada, a town celebrated for its picturesque meadows, waterfalls, lush vegetation, and rolling low valleys. As you travel through the verdant forests of Odisha, you'll arrive in the tribal area and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Following lunch, you'll visit Taptapani, a traditional village renowned for its hot sulfur springs and its rich cultural heritage, particularly of the Saura Tribal communities.

After exploring Taptapani, continue your journey to Rayagada, where you will spend the night.

On the sixth day of your Odisha tribal tour, you’ll begin by visiting Bisamkatak and exploring the vibrant weekly market at Majhiguda. Here, the Dongoriya Kondh tribes gather to sell their goods. The Dongoriya Kondh are distinguished by their traditional tattoos and are known for their expertise in irrigation, plantation, handicrafts, and medicinal practices. They are also integrating modern cultural elements into their lives.

In the afternoon, you'll explore traditional villages where artisans and craftsmen showcase their skills and crafts.

After a day of cultural immersion, you'll return to Rayagada for dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

On the seventh day of your tour, you'll set off on a scenic drive to the Chatikona Weekly Market. This vibrant market, organized by the Dongariya Kondhas—Dravidian tribes of Odisha—is a colorful display of traditional goods and crafts. Tribes from the Niyamagiri region gather here to sell their handmade wares. You’ll have lunch at the market, soaking in the lively atmosphere and unique local products.

Afterwards, you'll travel to Jeypore, a prominent town in Odisha renowned for its lush vegetation, cultural heritage, and scenic waterfalls.

Enjoy your overnight stay in Jeypore, where you can relax and take in the local charm.

On the eighth day of your tour, you'll start with a visit to Onkudelli, a vibrant and culturally rich market organized by the Bonda and Gadaba tribes. The Bonda women, known for their distinctive thick silver neckbands, live on a picturesque hill and are among the most primitive tribes, speaking a dialect called "Gutap." This market provides an essential glimpse into the traditional lifestyle of these tribes.

Lunch will be packed and served in the village, allowing you to savor a meal in the heart of the local culture.

After lunch, you'll visit the Boro Gadaba and pottery villages, where you can admire exquisite handmade pottery designs and experience the local craftsmanship.

Return to Jeypore for an overnight stay, reflecting on the day's rich cultural experiences.

On the final day of your Odisha tribal tour, you'll visit the bustling Kunduli Market, where you can observe the vibrant Paraja, Rana, and Mali tribal communities. This lively market offers a variety of homemade goods, including jewelry, food, and beverages.

After exploring the market, you'll visit the Paraja Tribal Villages to gain deeper insights into their way of life. A packed lunch will be provided for your convenience.

Following your tribal visits, you'll drive to Vishakhapatnam. Once you arrive in Vizag, enjoy your overnight stay at a local hotel before catching your flight.
