Day 1 - Arrival And Transfer To Gangtok
Our representative will greet you upon arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), Bagdogra Airport (IXB), or Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction). They will assist with your transfer to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Situated at an elevation of 1,670 meters (5,480 feet), Gangtok is renowned for its blend of tranquility and adventure, offering a rich cultural experience with its monasteries, mystical rituals, and festivals. Known for its stunning natural beauty, Gangtok is adorned with diverse rhododendrons, orchids, and butterflies. The drive to Gangtok covers approximately 130 kilometers and takes around 4.5 to 5 hours. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the evening exploring M.G. Road (Mall) or the local shopping center. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 2 - Excursion To Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir (nathu La Add On Tour)
After breakfast at the hotel, embark on an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. Located about 40 kilometers away, Tsomgo Lake is an oval-shaped body of water, approximately 50 feet deep, and is typically covered in snow for most of the year. The lake is home to Brahmini ducks and various migratory birds. Nearby, visit the sacred Baba Mandir, a revered site for many.
Nathu La Pass, which leads to the Republic of China, is an optional tour approximately 20 kilometers from Tsomgo Lake and incurs an additional cost. After your excursion, return to Gangtok. In the evening, you’ll have free time to explore M.G. Road (Mall) or the local shopping center. Overnight stay in Gangtok. If Tsomgo Lake is closed due to landslides or other reasons, alternative sightseeing options will be provided.
Day 3 - Gangtok Local Sight Seeing
After breakfast, set out for a city tour of Gangtok, designed for a comfortable and leisurely experience. The day’s sightseeing will include key attractions while keeping travel distances short, as it’s not possible to cover all the spots in one day. The itinerary features visits to the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, the Research Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten (Stupa), Enchey Monastery, White Hall, the Flower Show, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Tashi View Point, Banjhakri Falls—one of the most striking waterfalls near Gangtok—and Ranka Monastery. After exploring these highlights, return to your hotel. In the evening, you’re free to wander around M.G. Road (Mall) or the local shopping center. For those interested in nightlife, Gangtok offers a few discotheques. Enjoy an overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 4 - Departure To Bagdogra Airport (ixb) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (njp) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (junction)
After an early morning breakfast, begin your drive to Siliguri, heading towards Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP). The journey covers approximately 130 kilometers and takes about 4.5 to 5 hours. The route can be busy, with frequent traffic jams, and will take you along the scenic River Teesta. It’s advisable to stop for a cup of tea at Rangpo, Chitrey, or Melli, and if time permits, make a stop at the Coronation Bridge.
The drive offers picturesque views of natural beauty. Optional rafting on the way is available at an additional cost, though it is recommended to be cautious as many operators are not registered with government authorities. Complete your journey to Bagdogra Airport (IXB), New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), or Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction). Guests are advised to start early and avoid rushing.
