Day 1 - Arrival : Bhubaneswar
Upon arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport or Railway Station, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel. Bhubaneswar, known as the "Temple City," was founded over 3,000 years ago during the Kalinga Empire and is renowned for its magnificent temples. Although it once had over 2,000 temples, more than 500 of India's finest temples still stand today. Start your exploration with visits to the Lingaraj Temple, Rajarani Temple, Brahmeshwar Temple, Mukteshwar Temple, and Parshurameswar Temple.
After breakfast, drive to Puri, stopping en route at Dhauli. Dhauli features a modern peace pagoda and ancient rock edicts commemorating Emperor Ashoka’s conversion to Buddhism. It is a sacred Buddhist site on the banks of the Daya River, known for the historic Kalinga War.
Next, visit Hirapur, located 15 km southeast of Bhubaneswar, on the eastern bank of the river Kuakhai. The Chausath Yogini Temple here is dedicated to 64 manifestations of the goddess Shakti.
After lunch, explore the Khandagiri and Udaygiri Caves. These age-old caves, carved by Jain monks in the 1st century BC, served as dwellings and meditation quarters and were built under King Kharavela of the Mahameghavahan dynasty.
Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Bhubaneswar - Puri
After breakfast, drive to Puri, making a stop at Dhauli along the way. Dhauli, a sacred Buddhist site on the banks of the Daya River, is marked by a modern peace pagoda and ancient rock edicts that commemorate Emperor Ashoka's conversion to Buddhism, as well as the historic Kalinga War.
Continue to Pipli, a village renowned for its appliqué art. Here, local artisans create vibrant designs by cutting colored cloth into shapes of animals, birds, flowers, leaves, and other motifs, which are then stitched onto larger pieces of fabric.
Next, visit Konark to see the Sun Temple, also known as the Chariot of the Sun God. Built in the 13th century by King Langula Narasingh Deva, the temple is famous for its stunning architecture and intricate sculptures.
Drive along the Marine Drive to Puri, stopping at Chandrabhaga Beach and the Ramachandi Temple en route. Upon arrival in Puri, check into your hotel and freshen up.
In the evening, visit the renowned Jagannath Temple. This majestic temple is a major pilgrimage destination for Hindus and an important site in the “Char Dham” pilgrimages.
Return to your hotel in Puri for an overnight stay.
Day 3 - Departure : Puri
After breakfast this morning, check out from the hotel. We will then provide a transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
