Day 1 - Dehradun / Haridwar To Mussoorie
Start from Dehradun and reach Mussoorie by lunchtime. This popular hill station is ideal for year-round vacations and is especially enchanting in winter when blanketed by snow. En route, you’ll pass through Dehradun, the bustling state capital. Consider stopping for a couple of hours to explore the city before continuing to Mussoorie. Upon arrival, visit Camel's Back Road, a scenic 3-km stretch from Kulri Bazaar to Library Chowk, and then head to Lal Tibba, the highest point in Mussoorie, located in the Landour area. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets from this vantage point.
Day 2 - Mussoorie
The next day, start early to fully explore Mussoorie and its scenic surroundings. Visit Kempty Falls, a striking waterfall located about 10 km from the town center, and then head to Happy Valley, a large Tibetan settlement known for its IAS Academy, Tibetan temples, and Municipal Gardens. Continue your adventure to Hathipaon, a popular vantage point, and George Everest's House, a historic building perched on a cliff near Cloud's End, offering stunning views. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll along Mall Road, where you can enjoy the vibrant market atmosphere, twinkling lights, and cozy cafes.
Day 3 - Mussoorie To Lakhamandal
The next day, travel to Lakhamandal, approximately a 3-hour drive away. Visit the Lakhamandal Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, renowned for its unique graphite Shiva lingam that shimmers when water is poured on it. The temple's intricate architecture highlights India's rich heritage and has been declared a Monument of National Importance. Overnight stay in Lakhamandal.
Day 4 - Lakhamandal To Hanol
About two hours from Lakhamandal is Hanol, a charming hamlet on the banks of the Tons River. Renowned for its natural beauty and the Mahasu Devta Temple, Hanol offers picturesque landscapes perfect for photography. Keep your camera ready to capture the lush green surroundings and tranquil atmosphere. Overnight stay in Hanol.
Day 5 - Hanol To Asan Barrage And Dehradun / Haridwar
Start your day early to visit the Asan Barrage, located along the Yamuna River. Established in 2005, Asan is India’s first conservation reserve and is renowned for its avifauna, earning it the status of an Important Bird Area. You can spot a variety of winter migratory birds, including the star attraction, the Brahminy ducks. Spend an hour or two enjoying the birdwatching before beginning your return journey.
