Day 1 - Arrival Kochi And Transfer To Munnar
Upon your arrival at Cochin Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station, you will be greeted and transferred to Munnar (approximately a 4-hour drive). Along the way, enjoy scenic stops at various waterfalls and picturesque natural spots. Once you arrive in Munnar, check into your hotel and unwind for the rest of the day. Overnight accommodations will be provided at the hotel.
Day 2 - Munnar City Tour
After enjoying your breakfast, spend the day exploring the local sights of Munnar. Located at the meeting point of three mountain streams—Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundale—Munnar sits 1,600 meters above sea level and was once the summer retreat for the British government in South India.
Your sightseeing tour includes a visit to Mattupetty Dam, Kundale Lake, and Echo Point. In the afternoon, head to Rajamalai to spot the rare Nilgiri Tahr, a unique mountain goat species. Return to your hotel in Munnar for an overnight stay.
Day 3 - Munnar To Thekkady
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive to Thekkady (approximately 4 hours). Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and get ready for an exciting sightseeing tour of Thekkady, renowned for its wildlife and natural beauty.
The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the world's most captivating reserves, spans 777 square kilometers, with 360 square kilometers covered in dense evergreen forest. Established as a Tiger Reserve in 1978, it is celebrated for its unique geomorphology, rich biodiversity, and stunning scenery.
Optional activities include a boat ride on Periyar Lake, a visit to a spice plantation, and an elephant ride, all available at an additional cost. After a day of exploration, return to your hotel in Thekkady for an overnight stay.
Day 4 - Thekkady To Kumarakom
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Kumarakom (approximately 5 hours). Upon arrival, check in at your hotel.
In the afternoon, explore the charming backwater village of Kumarakom, nestled on the western banks of Vembanadu Lake. This scenic area, spanning 900 square kilometers, offers a serene experience amidst its tranquil waters and lush greenery.
You can choose to explore the backwaters by canoe, motorboat, or houseboat, taking in the stunning views and peaceful surroundings. Enjoy a leisurely ride through the serene waterways to fully appreciate the beauty of this backwater haven.
Return to your hotel in Kumarakom for an overnight stay.
Day 5 - Kumarakom To Kochi
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Cochin (approximately 2 hours).
In the afternoon, enjoy a local sightseeing tour of Cochin, often referred to as the "Queen of the Arabian Sea." This historic city, with its fine natural harbor, was a major hub for trade and commerce involving the British, Chinese, Portuguese, and Dutch.
Key attractions to explore include:
- Dutch Palace: Admire the historical architecture and murals.
- Jewish Synagogue: Visit this ancient synagogue located in the historic Jewish Quarter.
